Preliminary findings from the institutional survey reveal key barriers in software access, faculty training time, and curriculum integration across four partner institutions.

Survey Methodology

The digital skills audit combines structured surveys of students and faculty, in-depth interviews with industry stakeholders, and benchmarking against UK, EU, and South-East Asian comparators. All data collection has been designed with a gender-disaggregated lens, in line with the project's EDI commitments.

Early Findings

Early returns point to a consistent pattern: limited access to licensed BIM software, heavy reliance on AutoCAD-based teaching, and minimal exposure to ISO 19650 or Common Data Environment workflows. Faculty consistently cite a lack of training time and contextualised teaching materials as the primary barriers to change.

Full results will be published as an open-access report once fieldwork concludes in May 2026.
